Have you ever met someone that just embodies sunshine? I have and her name is Megan. Two years ago, I started going to a chiropractor here in Atlanta, and I was welcomed to the practice by Megan–a bubbly, energetic, genuine, and life-loving office manager. We quickly became friends because she’s the type of person that whole-heartedly cares about everyone she meets! I learned about her boyfriend Ryan and how incredible of a guy he was too. Well, months went by and soon, they were engaged and planning their RT Lodge wedding for Earth Day weekend! I was absolutely ecstatic for them and for the day that all their friends and family would be celebrating their love in the Tennessee mountains.
Megan and Ryan are truly so unique as individuals and as a couple. They are pretty much opposites in many ways, but the ways in which they are similar are amazing. Megan and Ryan love and care deeply. About each other, about health, about wholeness and living well, about the friends they hold close, and about their loving families. They express their emotions vividly and unashamedly whether that’s in tears, laughter, or excitement. They are concert-goers, hikers, and health nuts who have the cutest little pup named Blaze. I could clearly go on and on about them! I hope you can sense their true selves from their wedding day. Contact me to book your dream Tennessee wedding day!
RT Lodge is really a dream wedding venue. It’s located in the small town of Maryville, Tennessee on the local university’s campus. I knew from seeing photos online before visiting the venue that it was woodsy and colorful, but actually driving up and walking around the grounds myself completely blew my mind! It’s the cutest and quaintest place with everything you need for a wedding right there. My second shooter Connie and I shared a lovely room in one of the two guest lodges and the best part was that Megan’s bridal suite was just one floor below us! Megan and Ryan had their rehearsal dinner and welcome party the day before at the lodge’s restaurant, which included live music on the patio played by their friends.
On the wedding morning, we had a delicious & healthy breakfast provided by the lodge before getting ready for the day. I loved watching the emotions start to build up prior to the wedding ceremony. Megan was giddy. Ryan was cool… until he read the letter Megan wrote to him! As she came down the aisle, mostly everyone’s eyes were teary including Ryan’s. Their love was so tangible as they read their vows, prayed, and exchanged rings. The rest of the wedding was just as beautiful with the way Colby West Designs transformed the reception tent into a earthy, bohemian party! I’m still so obsessed with the wooden orbs hanging from the ceiling plus the linen drapery and hand-written watercolor numbers on each table. The cake was delicious, the first dance was a choreographed masterpiece, and the night ended with fireside s’mores. Amazing.
Good tears, deep smiles and laughter, dancing all night long. Simply what the best wedding days are made of.
