One of my favorite things about photographing weddings over the years is when bridesmaids, friends, or guests from one wedding refer me to their friends and I get to celebrate and party with them again at another wedding! This is exactly how I got connected with Elizabeth and John Mark for their Lookout Mountain Club wedding in Chattanooga this fall. Ginnie, a super sweet bridesmaid from Jordan & Gavin’s wedding last year, sent Elizabeth & John Mark my way and from our first phone conversations, I knew how much I loved these two. They live in Tennessee, so we didn’t actually get to meet face to face until the morning of their wedding, but meeting them for the first time was just the best. Elizabeth and her girls were just laughing, being silly, and enjoying the morning despite a 6 am start time to the day. John Mark and his guys were joking about how one of the groomsmen accidentally rented the wrong color suit—thankfully, you can’t even tell!
I drove home from Elizabeth & John Mark’s Lookout Mountain Club wedding exhausted but so incredibly overjoyed. Randomly throughout the 2 hour drive, I would just smile SO big thinking about the day and events and memories I was just able to witness and capture. Even with such a big wedding (they had over 250 guests), the day felt intimate and inviting. People were hugging each other left & right and everyone poured out all their joy and love for Elizabeth & John Mark. The venue was beautiful, the weather was ideal, and the simplicity of the day was really just perfect. Also, I am STILL drooling about those chicken & waffle bites.. yummm…
