At the beginning of the year, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph an editorial at The Carlyle Venue, one of Atlanta’s newest wedding venues. With the vision of my talented wedding planner friend, Halle of Halle Neeley Events, we came together with a group of local industry vendors to produce a moody, feminine, and classy shoot. Felix of Emerald and Olive designed all of the floral elements and created a flawless, organic ceremony arch that perfectly accented the golden chairs. For the attire, we selected a sleek bridal gown and a simple veil to contrast the vibrant embroidered suit jacket. My favorite part of the shoot was creatively utilizing the large window light to bring in some moody silhouettes.
I loved working at The Carlyle Venue! The space was formerly a furniture store and recently transformed into a wedding and event space. Located right in the heart of Atlanta between Buckhead and Midtown, it’s an easy location to navigate from anywhere in the city. There are many hotels, churches, and restaurants nearby, which is ideal for a wedding venue in a major city. The design aspects of The Carlyle Venue are especially noteworthy. It combines beautiful elements of both historic elegance and modern architecture using high ceilings, hardwood floors, and eye-catching interior design. There’s an overall Art Deco theme and the space is very large yet simple and luxurious. The Carlyle can hold anywhere from 200 to 700 guests and includes a bridal suite, an outdoor courtyard, and a permanent bar.
