When I think about my friend Lindsey, I think about mosh pits, Mayday Parade, Napolean Dynamite, and The All-American Rejects. Why? Well, Lindsey and I met wayyy back in middle school over 10 years ago at our church’s summer camp in Virginia. Back then, we bonded over our mutual love for Paramore, going to concerts, and being music-loving teenagers. We were close close friends for years til going different ways in high school and college.

Thanks to social media, we’ve been able to stay in touch and reconnect as she got engaged to Zach last year. Lindsey and Zach met at JMU and they really couldn’t be more of opposites. Lindsey is loud (she’ll admit to that!), outspoken, and the life of the party. Zach is super reserved, quiet, and a man of few words. Yet, in the best way, these opposites attract and balance each other so well. I loved seeing Zach’s calm spirit alongside Lindsey’s bubbly and hilarious attitude during their Asheville wedding day. Their wedding weekend was my first time to Asheville, and I’m so glad I got to shoot at Yesterday Spaces. It’s a gorgeous venue surrounded by mountain views, crisp air, farm animals, and wild turkeys. A few of my favorite memories from their day:

-Getting to hug and reunite with Lindsey plus two of her bridesmaids that I was also friends with years ago in Virginia, Allie & Holly, was such a good way to start the day for me. I loved getting to catch up with them again and on such a happy occasion.

-Lindsey was the perfect level of emotional! She let her tears and laughter and excitement be so free throughout the day. Got me crying a few times too 🙂

– The weather cooperated perfectly. It was fairly hot in the morning, but the clouds shaded everything during their outdoor ceremony, family portraits, and cocktail hour. We got some darker & moodier skies during their sunset portraits right before a summer downpour for about 15 minutes during the reception. Everything cleared up again for their bubble exit!

-Donuts instead of wedding cake. YUM.

-I didn’t include any pictures from the dance party at their reception, but let’s just say there were some solo dances with chairs involved that made grandma cover her eyes. Haha!

Now, when I think about Lindsey, I think of her as a carefree bride, crying tears of joy on her wedding day and being a wife! It’s so crazy to think about us way back then and how life has changed to where we are now.
