It’s been such a special time in my life since last December when my older sister got engaged. Journeying along with Imani and Zach during their engagement and wedding has given me so much joy! Knowing that my big sister and best friend has found someone that means so much to her, takes amazing care of her, loves her unconditionally like Jesus, and is genuinely a wonderful man is just the best feeling. Imani and Zach have been married a little over two months now, but I want to rewind a bit to the weekend I took their engagement photos. I encouraged Imani and Zach to think outside of the box (aka outside of Atlanta) for their session and suggested Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island as a potential spot. Thankfully, they were all for it! So we made our way down to the island on a Friday afternoon in May. On Saturday, we relaxed a bit and grabbed lunch while waiting for that good old Georgia heat to die down before starting the session at an abandoned ruin and finishing on the beach. Third-wheeling with these two will always be my favorite.
There are no rules when it comes to engagement sessions! You can truly do whatever you want, whatever speaks to you as a couple. I always welcome destination sessions if there’s somewhere new you’ve been wanting to explore or a place that’s special to you outside of where you live. The location doesn’t matter—as long as you’re ready to spend time together, celebrating all of the days and months and years that have led up to this moment in time. I’ll be there to capture it all.
Beautiful Kiyah! So gorgeously shot!
