A springtime engagement session at Goodstone Inn in Virginia was Lilly & Darryl’s dream come true. We decided on photographing at Goodstone Inn thanks to Lilly’s personal love and connection to the venue. Goodstone is a unique and luxurious bed and breakfast located in the heart of northern Virginia’s horse and wine country. The property features a main inn and a collection of cottages and private homes. Virginia holds stunning greenery and colorful flowers that bloom during spring. The days are getting longer, which means more daylight for dreamy photos. Many popular spots for engagement sessions include gardens, parks, and nature preserves, and the state has plenty of those. Overall, a springtime engagement photoshoot in Virginia is a lovely experience that results in stunning and romantic photographs.
This May, Lilly and Darryl are getting married at the Holly Hedge Estate in Pennsylvania, which has a similar secret garden appeal as Goodstone Inn. The greenery, winding vines, and farmhouse aesthetic of their engagement session match perfectly with their future wedding venue.
We took full advantage of the secluded and peaceful setting for their engagement session at Goodstone Inn. On 265 acres of rolling hills and meadows, the property offers many spots to enjoy nature. Additionally, I loved getting to soak in the golden hour with this beautiful couple on such a perfect spring day. Overall, Goodstone Inn offers a unique and luxurious experience for guests and was the ideal location for my time with Lilly and Darryl.
But, we didn’t stop there! Lilly and Darryl envisioned both a nature and a city experience for their engagement session so we started the afternoon at The Archer Hotel in Tysons, Virginia. The Archer is a unique and modern hotel featuring a sleek and contemporary design. We spent most of our time at the cocktail bar and restaurant. Saying “cheers” for a few drinks made for a great start to our time together.
