Resources For Photographers

I don’t know where I would be without the classes, resources, workshops, and mentors that have educated me over the last 10 years since I first began taking photographs. Now, I see myself in so many new photographers as they navigate through the questions and confusion that come with mastering this beautiful art. Few things bring me as much joy as teaching others about photography and helping them grow into all that they can be!

Photography Lessons & Coaching Sessions

For anyone! Whether you’re a beginner with just a camera phone or maybe you’ve just bought a brand new DSLR and don’t know what the heck you’re doing with it orrrr you’re in the early stages of your photography business and ready to take things to the next level. Topics include:

• the basics of your DSLR and/or camera phone

• going from shooting in auto to manual (learning aperture, ISO, and shutter speed)

• composing & capturing photographs you’re proud of

• editing & post-processing with Lightroom, Photoshop, presets, apps, etc.

• posing & directing your subjects

• ALL THINGS BUSINESS! — branding, pricing yourself, marketing, workflow, setting up your business legally, taxes, etc.

• portfolio/website critique

• anything else you may need help with

$250/hour (available in-person or virtually)

*$150 to add on either headshots photographed by me or to shadow me as a photograph a session

What gear do you use?

Digital // Canon 5D Mark IV (2), Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 6D, Canon 35mm 1.4 LII, Canon 50mm 1.4, Canon 85mm 1.8, Tamron 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 580EX Speedlite, Yongnuo YN600EX-RT.

Film // Olympus OM-88 with a 35-70mm, Fuji Instax Mini, Polaroid One600, Portra 400, Agfa Vista 200, Ilford 400, Tri-x 400

What do you use to edit?

I primarily use Adobe Lightroom to edit my images. I’ll use Photoshop for additional artistic retouching. I use VSCO and Cascade presets that are tweaked for my personal style. For iPhone pictures, I use the VSCOCam app. 

How did you get started in photographing weddings?

In 2014, my two good friends got engaged and asked me to be their wedding photographer. I’d always loved wedding photography, but I never actually envisioned myself photographing weddings, so when they asked me, I initially said no! After more consideration, I agreed to it, photographed their wedding, and absolutely fell in love from there. Since then, I began second shooting for photographers and photographing more friends get married to add to my portfolio.
