3 months down already. Just a little crazy how fast time is going by! I enjoyed March for my 25th birthday, the weather turning warm, and, of course, redoing my website!
Goals for this month:
Last month, you may remember my list of goals included working out 3-4x a week. That was a lofty goal and I definitely did not succeed or come anywhere close to it. I felt dumb for even including that as a goal! But as I was reflecting back on my month, I realized that 1) I need to choose grace over guilt about my failure of that goal and 2) I should probably revise/rethink about what goal even means to me.
Of course, I want to take care of my body; eating healthy + exercising regularly is crucial to that. I’ve also been struggling with low energy levels and clothes not fitting how I want them to, so I know that working out will help that. But, deeper than that, I asked myself why don’t I enjoy going to the gym, running, or other exercise? And I realized it’s because it isn’t stimulating for me and feels like too much of a task. But you know what doesn’t feel like a task for me and I absolutely love? Playing volleyball and taking cycling classes. These two activities are my favorite ways to get my heart rate up, sweat, and have fun. So, there was my solution! Instead of forcing myself to be a runner or lifter, I need to do what I love. So, I signed up for an adult volleyball league (!!!) that starts at the end of the month and I’m actually looking forward to getting in shape before it starts! I haven’t played volleyball on a team since 2010 (yikes), but I love it so much and I can’t wait to start playing. I’d love to hear your goals!
