When I got an email from Jordan last summer inquiring about her Summerour Studio wedding, I squealed, then teared up a bit (no joke), then quickly responded back to her with my excitement and availability. You see, Summerour is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Atlanta, and it’s been a dream of mine to photograph a wedding there for years. That’s where the tears of joy came from!
Soon after emailing, Jordan and I met via Skype and my excitement grew even more as I realized how cute, fun, and genuine of a girl she is and how absolutely adorable her love story is with Gavin. They met in St. Louis at seminary and Gavin proposed to her on a sailboat in Charleston! So stinkin precious. Seriously though, these two people are some of the kindest I’ve ever known. Jordan never let wedding planning overwhelm her and in just 6 months, they were happily celebrating and then honeymooning in Asheville. I’m crazy thankful to know them! A few of my favorite memories from their Summerour Studio wedding day:
-It was about 70 degrees all day. On a Saturday in January. Thank you, crazy Atlanta weather!
-Jordan and her girls prepped for the day at an amazing Airbnb in Buckhead. I love that she opted for this instead of a hotel room or another house. The place was roomy, had lots of window light, and had the prettiest green vines growing all over the exterior, just like at Summerour Studio.
-Jordan’s expression when she saw her hair and makeup in the mirror for the first time was pretty priceless.
-All day Jordan was so ready to see Gavin for their first look. When she came down the stairs and turned him around, it was like an explosion of happiness.
-Jordan & Gavin had kept a notebook to write to each other throughout their engagement. They both teared up as they read each other’s notes before their ceremony.
-This was the first time I’ve ever been to a wedding with a band instead of a DJ and I’m now a HUGE fan. Heart To Heart band absolutely killed it and I wish they could be at every wedding I photograph!
